I write letters to my younger self.
And then she writes back.
I’ve been writing letters to myself for a while, but never like this. Before, it was the occasional note scribbled down and then thrown away. By putting it on this platform, I’ve been able to take it seriously and write consistently at least one letter per day.
It’s been interesting so far, to say the least.
It turns out I have multiple younger selves. I’m going about this process using 12 archetypes. Therefore, when I write an “About Me,” I can’t really just write about myself (Ana). I have to write about all of us:
I never know what they or I will write next, so I have no idea what will come next. I try to keep my editing to a minimum to preserve authenticity, even when I see tiny infuriating grammatical errors or have annoyingly bolded almost every word in a paragraph. It’s everything in my head splat out onto the keyboard.
The adventure is just getting started.
